Neuro Kinetics, Inc. (NKI) is the world leader in eye tracking technology and non-invasive neuro-otologic diagnostic testing. Central to our I-Portal® product mix and technological advances is the premise that the eye is the portal to the brain. Research has shown the detection of abnormal eye movements can indicate the presence of over 200 diseases and medical conditions. For over 25 years, NKI has supplied comprehensive neuro-otologic diagnostic tools to audiologists, ENT’s, neuro-otologists, neuro-ophthalmologists and neurologists around the globe. Our bottom line -- improving patient outcomes by helping clinicians envision new possibilities for patient care.
Clinicians trust Neuro Kinetics to discover, refine and provide new tests, technologies and protocols to their practice; and to deliver and support the highest quality devices. In 2006, NKI launched a comprehensive overhaul and upgrade of its product line; the patented and patent pending I-Portal® testing platform. The advances incorporated in the I-Portal® technology enable a more precise and sensitive measurement of the reflexes and responses generated by parts of the brain to specific stimuli. The result is expanded clinical utility -- a non-invasive diagnostic tool that can detect more medical conditions at lower cost.
- Vestibular and Balance – Push the standard of care in your market and position your practice as a leader in vestibular and balance diagnostics. Providing a comprehensive neuro-otologic assessment distinguishes your practice and builds trust and credibility with patients and referring physicians.
- mTBI and Concussion – Collaborating with military and sports medicine researchers to evaluate neuro-otologic tests to objectively diagnose and monitor blast and blunt force head trauma. Early data shows I-Portal® tests can detect abnormalities resulting from head trauma even when structural imaging technologies show no damage.
- Ophthalmics – Awarded SBIR Phase II grant from the National Institutes of Health to commercialize a new test for non-invasive diabetic retinopathy detection.
NKI’s primary business is supporting the clinical market; but our story began in research as a pioneer in the vestibular market. Working with researchers at NASA and Brooks Air Force Base in the late 1970’s, we manufactured the first computerized rotational chair. Throughout our history we have worked to move cutting edge research into the clinical arena. Our leading eye tracking technology developed within the vestibular market is finding new applications in head trauma and ophthalmics and has helped NKI win grants from both the DOD and NIH. |
