Allegheny Health Network Physicians Present First Evidence of Objective Concussion Assessment and Diagnosis Technology

Apr 6, 2014

Physicians at Allegheny Health Network conducted a study to detect evidence of concussion. Baseline tests were collected on 292 high school football players with no history of head injury, using NKI’s I-Portal® technology to measure their eye movements and pupil reflexes in response to a variety of stimuli. Ten of the athletes suffered a concussion during the course of the season. After retesting, the physicians compared post-concussion test results to preseason data and revealed the the first evidence of the ability to objectively assess and diagnose concussions. Link
